Fatal motorcycle collision on SC-350 in Rio do Sul

A fatal traffic accident occurred on the SC-350 highway in Rio do Sul, Santa Catarina, on the night of Thursday, August 27, 2026. Ismael Luiz Santos Ribeiro, 29, died at the scene following a head-on collision between his Honda NX-4 Falcon motorcycle and a Peugeot 208.

According to the Military Highway Police (PMRv), the collision happened near kilometer 360 in the Albertina locality. The accident reportedly occurred when the car, driven by a 32-year-old woman, attempted an overtaking maneuver and struck the motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver and three female passengers, aged 21, 21, and 23, sustained injuries. While three passengers were treated for minor injuries, one passenger was reported to be in serious condition. A breathalyzer test performed on the driver showed no presence of alcohol. Authorities from the Civil and Scientific Police attended the scene to conduct necessary procedures.
