Fatal Motorcycle Crash Kills Young Rider on Vietnam's National Highway 1
On the morning of June 1, a serious traffic collision occurred on National Highway 1 in Long Định commune, Dong Tháp province. A 20‑year‑old motorcyclist, riding a bike registered in Lạng Sơn, collided with the rear of a truck traveling eastward toward Ho Chi Minh City. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be thrown from his vehicle and he died at the scene.
The crash happened around 8 a.m. during peak traffic, resulting in a damaged motorcycle, a dented truck rear, and a large tire mark on the road. Police and traffic‑control units from the Trung Lương checkpoint responded, securing the area, directing traffic, and launching an investigation into the cause of the accident.
