E6 Dovrefjell crash kills one, injures three in Norway
A serious traffic collision occurred on the European route E6 over the Dovrefjell mountain area in Norway. One person was confirmed dead at the scene while three others sustained severe injuries and were transported to hospital. Emergency services, including two air ambulances, responded promptly; the road was closed for about 40 km while rescue teams worked to free victims and clear the wreckage.
Police operations leader Vidar Flokenes described the accident as a front‑to‑front collision between two vehicles. The incident caused extensive traffic disruptions, with long queues forming while the highway remained closed in both directions. Investigators from the police forensic unit and the Public Roads Administration’s crash investigation team continued to examine the site after traffic resumed later that night.
