Fatal road accidents in India involve Kia Seltos and Swift cars

A Kia Seltos SUV collided with a scooter in Mumbai after a CJP protest, killing a police officer even though he was wearing a seat belt, prompting safety concerns about the vehicle.

In Maharashtra's Nasik district, a Swift car lost control after hitting a pothole and fell into a drainage ditch, killing driver Sagar Bedade and his passenger. Local officials noted repeated complaints about road potholes had been ignored. On the same day a separate crash near Bhiwandi, where a cruiser struck a stationary truck, left about eight people injured.
