Fatal road accidents in Rio Grande do Sul claim four lives in two separate crashes
Two serious traffic collisions occurred in Rio Grande do Sul this week.
On Friday morning, a 20‑year‑old agro‑technical student, Ramon Rodrigues Oliveira, died after his Fiat Argo collided frontally with a VW truck on the RSC‑101 near Osório. Police reports say the car attempted an overtaking maneuver and the driver of the truck tested negative for alcohol.
On Saturday afternoon, a family of three from Gravataí – Mauro Monteiro de Oliveira (46), Simone Rodrigues de Oliveira (48) and their 12‑year‑old son João Rodrigues Oliveira – were killed when their Ford Verona was struck by a Ford Tremor on the BR‑386 near Bom Retiro do Sul as they were traveling to a dance presentation. The other vehicle’s occupants suffered only minor injuries. Both accidents prompted investigations by the Federal Highway Police and the Institute‑General of Forensics.
