Road accidents across Latin America cause multiple deaths and injuries FAST-MOVING
A series of traffic collisions were reported in several Latin American countries during July‑August 2026. In Argentina, a head‑on crash on provincial route 192 near Exaltación de la Cruz killed seven occupants and left one survivor in critical condition. Another accident on the Rosario–Santa Fe highway near Monje resulted in two fatalities. In Mexico, a collision on the Toluca‑Villa Victoria road near Almoloya de Juárez claimed one life and injured five people. A van that lost control on the Córdoba‑Puebla highway caused a partial lane closure. A fatal crash on the Transístmica highway near Matías Romero, Oaxaca, left three dead and one injured. In Bolivia, a bus overturning on the Oruro‑Cochabamba road killed three family members, including an infant. In Ecuador, a head‑on collision on the Esmeraldas‑Santo Domingo road caused four deaths and eight injuries. Chile reported a multi‑vehicle crash on Route 5 Sur near Collipulli that injured four people with light injuries. Argentina also saw a chicken‑laden truck overturn on Route 226, killing numerous birds but sparing the driver. These incidents involved a range of vehicles – cars, trucks, vans, buses and a chicken‑laden truck – and were attributed to factors such as poor weather, loss of control, possible over‑loading and road conditions. Authorities in each country opened investigations and deployed emergency services to rescue victims and clear the scenes.
