B31 Crash Near Langenargen Claims One Life and Injures Several
On Saturday, July 4, 2026, a head‑on collision occurred on Germany's B31 near Langenargen, between Oberdorf and Eriskirch. A 41‑year‑old driver of an Opel Vivaro was killed in the impact, while the driver of a Mercedes‑C‑Klasse and two other men were seriously injured. A motorcycle rider who tried to avoid the crash also fell and suffered injuries.
Emergency services deployed multiple police units, an ambulance, a rescue helicopter and six fire‑engine crews. The B31 remained fully closed for several hours while the wreckage was cleared and the injured were treated.
Police investigations suggest the Mercedes driver may have drifted into oncoming traffic for an unclear reason, triggering the fatal frontal collision with the transport vehicle.
