Fatal rollover crash near Madelia kills one person

A fatal rollover crash occurred early in the morning near the intersection of two rural highways in the Mankato area, approximately seven miles southeast of Madelia, Minnesota.

The Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident took place around 4:50 a.m. on Blue Earth County Road 10. Preliminary investigations suggest the vehicle was traveling west when it crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and rolled into a ditch. Both occupants were reportedly ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

James Andrew Harris, 28, of Amboy, was identified as the deceased victim. An unidentified woman sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance. The crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Patrol.
