Fatal scooter‑car crashes claim three lives in Milan and Elba, Italy

On June 12, 2026, a collision between an electric scooter carrying two teenagers and a Kia Picanto in the Bicocca district of Milan resulted in the death of 18‑year‑old Eros Gagliardi. The scooter entered the intersection without respecting traffic signs; the driver of the car, a 21‑year‑old woman, tested negative for alcohol or drugs. The other teenager was injured but survived. Emergency services transported the victims to Niguarda Hospital and San Gerardo di Monza.

Later the same day, near the airport road in Marina di Campo on the island of Elba, two 23‑year‑old men from the Versilia region were fatally injured when their rented scooter collided head‑on with a Kia. Both were wearing helmets, but the impact caused severe internal injuries; one died instantly and the other succumbed after emergency responders arrived. Several passengers in the car, a family from Novara, sustained minor injuries. Police and Carabinieri are investigating the accidents.
