Fatal shooting of Senegalese national in Almería, Spain
A Senegalese national has died at the Torrecárdenas University Hospital in Almería, Spain, following a shooting in the town of Pechina. The victim sustained a severe gunshot wound to the abdomen during an incident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Reports indicate that gunfire was heard around 2:50 a.m. in the Los Cortijillos neighborhood, allegedly targeting a group of approximately fifteen people of Sub-Saharan origin. A second Senegalese national was also injured and assaulted during the violence.
While initial reports suggest a possible confrontation between members of the Roma community and Senegalese residents, some locals have raised concerns regarding intimidation efforts aimed at forcing Senegalese residents to leave the area. Authorities have not yet confirmed these motives or announced any arrests.
