Violent crime surges across Guatemala, Spain, and Latin America

Multiple regions across Latin America and Spain are experiencing surges in violent crime. In Guatemala, at least 14 people were killed during a weekend of armed attacks and discovery of bodies in various locations, including Villa Canales and Mixco. The National Civil Police has announced reinforced patrols in response.

In Spain, several violent incidents were reported. In Catalonia, a man died following a stabbing during a group altercation in La Ràpita, while another 19-year-old was injured during a robbery in Vilafranca del Penedès. In Salamanca, a man remains in serious condition after being stabbed in a park. Additionally, police in Lleida arrested individuals following knife-related threats.

In Mexico, violence continues with a fatal shooting in Apatzingán and the discovery of a man with signs of violence in San Francisco de los Romo. In Colombia, a 28-year-old woman died after being caught in the crossfire of a shooting in the Suba district of Bogotá. Meanwhile, in Costa Rica, two separate shootings in Cartago resulted in two deaths and two injuries within a single hour.
