Fatal shootings reported in Surubim and Natal
Two separate fatal shootings involving young workers occurred in different Brazilian regions.
In Surubim, 26-year-old José Paulo Sérgio Barbosa da Silva was shot and killed on Wednesday morning inside an automotive electrical maintenance workshop where he worked with his father. Witnesses reported that two men on a motorcycle approached and fired approximately four shots while the victim was using his mobile phone. Local police noted the victim had prior criminal records for drug trafficking. Security footage of the vehicle used by the suspects is being used to assist the investigation.
In Natal, a 20-year-old mechanic identified as Robert was shot and killed on Tuesday evening inside a motorcycle parts store in the Pitimbu neighborhood. The victim was finishing his shift when two men on a motorcycle entered the establishment and opened fire. The Homicide and Person Protection Division (DHPP) is investigating the incident, as the suspects remain unidentified.
