Fatal single-vehicle crash on A9 near Dunkeld

A 62-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash on the A9 near Dunkeld. The incident involved a white Toyota Hilux and occurred on the southbound carriageway near Jubilee Bridge at approximately 10:25 a.m. on Monday, August 17.

Emergency responders at the scene included police, an ambulance, an air ambulance, a critical care team, and a special operations response team. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and his next of kin have been informed.

The A9 was closed in both directions for approximately six hours to facilitate the investigation and vehicle recovery, reopening shortly before 4:30 p.m. Police Scotland is appealing to witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the area to contact officers to assist with the ongoing inquiry.
