Fatal traffic accidents involving children reported in Austria and Italy

Two separate fatal traffic accidents involving children were reported in Austria and Italy on September 30, 2026.

In Feldbach, Austria, a 13-year-old girl died after being struck by a truck while riding a moped with her 15-year-old sister. The collision occurred on Europastrasse when a 61-year-old truck driver attempted a left turn. The 13-year-old was thrown under the vehicle and died despite emergency medical intervention. Her sister sustained minor injuries.

In Bozen, Italy, a girl under the age of four died after being run over by a delivery van near the entrance to Waltherpark. The child was waiting for a bus with her mother when the vehicle entered the pedestrian zone. The child was taken to intensive care but did not survive. The father of the victim is calling for justice as police investigate the exact circumstances of the accident.
