Fatal traffic accidents reported in Otsu and Akita

Two separate fatal traffic accidents occurred in Japan. In Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, a 76-year-old unemployed woman died after being struck by a light truck while crossing a pedestrian crossing without a signal. The incident took place on a straight, single-lane road with good visibility.

In Akita City, Akita Prefecture, a 43-year-old man died following a head-on collision between his passenger car and a large truck on a port road. The collision occurred on October 21, and the victim was later confirmed dead at a hospital due to a cerebral contusion.
