A 60‑year‑old driver died after his car smashed into a concrete wall in the city of Veria on the night of 22 June, and his 64‑year‑old sister, who was a passenger, was hospitalized with serious injuries. Police are investigating the cause of the crash, which occurred around 20:40.
In Patras, a worker at the Athens Brewery suffered a head injury at the plant and was taken to the General Hospital “Agios Andreas” for treatment and monitoring. The incident prompted the brewery’s workers’ union to call a 24‑hour strike on 24 June, demanding improved occupational health and safety measures and collective bargaining agreements.
