Fatal traffic crashes in Vietnam kill pregnant woman in Ho Chi Minh City and couple in Hung Yen

On the morning of 13 June, a truck traveling on Nguyễn Văn Linh in Ho Chi Minh City collided with a motorcycle carrying a 25‑year‑old pregnant woman from An Giang. The impact threw the rider away from the vehicle and she died at the scene, just days after taking maternity leave.

Later the same day, on National Highway 39 near Tiên La commune in Hung Yen province, a motorbike ridden by a man veered left and struck the rear of a parked bus. The crash caused a chain‑reaction collision that killed both the motorcyclist and his female passenger. A third rider, not wearing a helmet, was injured but survived.

Both accidents prompted police investigations and road‑safety scrutiny in the respective provinces.
