Fatal Train-Car Collision at Suceava Level Crossing Claims Driver's Life

A passenger train struck a car at a level crossing in Prelipca, Suceava County, early on Sunday. The 47‑year‑old driver was thrown from the vehicle and was declared dead at the scene despite immediate resuscitation attempts by emergency crews. Inspectorate for Emergency Situations units, a rescue vehicle and SMURD ambulance responded, and two county ambulance teams provided medical assistance.

Authorities have opened an investigation to determine how the car entered the tracks and whether crossing rules were observed. The probe will examine the circumstances leading to the tragedy and any possible safety shortcomings at the crossing.
