Italy reports multiple fatal road accidents across various regions
Multiple fatal road accidents have been reported across various regions in Italy.
In Calabria, a violent head-on collision between a Peugeot and a heavy vehicle on the SS 682 Jonio-Tirreno resulted in the deaths of a 53-year-old father, Vincenzo Loccisano, and his two daughters, aged 14 and 8. The mother, Morena Femia, was critically injured and remains in intensive care.
On the A18 Messina-Catania motorway, a 67-year-old truck driver, Antonio Gnisci, was killed near Giarre after being struck by an articulated vehicle while he was on the emergency lane to repair a flat tire.
Other significant incidents include a fatal crash on the A1 motorway near San Vittore involving a 60-year-old truck driver, and a collision in Sant’Angelo Lomellina where three people died after an SUV struck a truck. Additionally, in Afragola, a driver reportedly entered the Asse Mediano in the wrong direction due to GPS error, leading to a head-on collision that injured two people.
