Fatal vehicle collisions involving tractor-trailers reported in New York and New Jersey

Two separate fatal accidents involving tractor-trailers have been reported in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area.

In Manhattan, a motorcyclist died following a collision with a tractor-trailer on the Trans-Manhattan Expressway at the George Washington Bridge. The accident occurred around 5:19 AM on the upper level of the expressway. The truck driver remained at the scene to cooperate with the NYPD investigation and was not injured.

In New Jersey, two women were killed on the Garden State Parkway near the Toms River toll plaza after vehicles struck a tractor-trailer. The truck had been positioned to protect a disabled vehicle in the northbound center lane. A Honda sedan struck the truck and went down an embankment, followed by a Ford SUV that also hit the trailer. One woman was seriously injured, while the truck driver sustained minor injuries. This incident marks the fifth fatal crash on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County this year.
