Fatal workplace accidents reported in Argentina and Chile

Two separate fatal workplace accidents have been reported in Argentina and Chile.

In Ullum, Argentina, a worker identified as José Jofré died at the 'La Herminia' estate. The accident occurred during maintenance on a Caterpillar machine when a front loader bucket detached and fell on him. The Special Crimes UFI is investigating the cause of the mechanical failure and whether safety protocols were followed.

In Molina, Chile, a 24-year-old worker died after falling into a wastewater treatment pit at the Bio Energía S.A. plant. Two other workers were injured in the incident and received medical attention. The PDI Homicide Brigade of Curicó is conducting a scientific and technical investigation to determine the circumstances of the fall and assess compliance with safety regulations.
