Fatal workplace accidents reported in Mexico and Guatemala

A worker died in San José del Valle, located in the Bahía de Banderas municipality of Mexico, after being buried under a load of sand at a screening plant. Co-workers attempted to rescue the individual and transported him to a local clinic, but medical professionals confirmed he had no vital signs. The Criminal Investigation Agency has launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.

In Masagua, Escuintla, Guatemala, a minor died after falling approximately 14 meters from the roof of a corn warehouse. According to municipal firefighters, the teenager stepped on a fiberglass sheet that could not support his weight, causing him to fall into the facility. Responders noted that the victim was not using safety equipment at the time of the accident.
