Fatboy Slim honors Argentine advertiser Norbert Degoas in Buenos Aires

British DJ Fatboy Slim incorporated a historic Argentine advertising jingle into his recent performance at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires. The segment featured the voice of the late announcer and advertiser Norbert Degoas, known for the iconic “Buenos Aires… El Cóndor… Mar del Plata” jingle for the transport company El Cóndor.

Following the live performance, BiriBiri Records released a mashup titled “Degoas – Piazzolla (El Condor – Libertango),” which blends Degoas’s vocals with Astor Piazzolla’s 1974 composition “Libertango.” The mashup connects two significant elements of Argentine culture: the commercial jingle that has gained renewed popularity on social media and the world-renowned tango music of Piazzolla.
