Fatec to open second campus in Praia Grande

A second unit of the Faculdade de Tecnologia do Estado de São Paulo (Fatec) will be established in the Maracanã neighborhood of Praia Grande. The creation of this new campus was officialized by the Centro Estadual de Educação Tecnológica Paula Souza, with classes expected to begin in February 2027.

The new facility will offer free courses that are unprecedented in the Baixada Santista region. While specific courses have not yet been announced, the municipal government and the Centro Paula Souza have been coordinating since early 2025 to prepare the site. The building will be provided by the municipality.

In nearby Guarujá, the expansion of technological education, such as the Systems Analysis and Development course, is viewed as a strategic opportunity to diversify the local economy. By providing accessible, tuition-free higher education, the region aims to meet the growing digital demands of the tourism, commerce, and port sectors.
