Aniplex has provided new details regarding Fate/EXTRA Record, a full remake of the 2010 PSP title Fate/EXTRA. The game is scheduled for release on January 28, 2027, for platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam.

During a media briefing at Tokyo Game Show 2026, developers explained that while TYPE-MOON Studio BB handles core planning, Meteorize is responsible for the actual development. The transition to Aniplex as publisher has not altered the original project concepts.

The remake introduces a modernized deck-building command card battle system, replacing the previous rock-paper-scissors style combat. Players will explore the Arena dungeon, managing resources and time over a seven-day period. The game will feature updated 3D graphics based on character designs by Takashi Wada, with full voice acting and enhanced visual novel-style storytelling. Players can select Saber, Archer, or Caster as their partner, which will influence both combat styles and narrative paths.
