Father and baby escape police vehicle crash in Rio Largo, Brazil
During a high‑speed police chase on a Saturday morning in Rio Largo, Alagoas, a police vehicle lost control and drove onto a residential sidewalk. A father holding his infant was seated on the sidewalk at the moment the vehicle entered; he quickly stood up and moved away, narrowly avoiding being struck. The police car subsequently collided with a house wall.
The incident prompted the municipal traffic authority (SMTT) to suspend the involved officer from operational duties pending an administrative investigation. Authorities said the footage would be examined to determine the circumstances of the chase and the vehicle’s handling in a residential area.
