Denver Archbishop orders priest Chad Ripperger to pause public ministry

Archbishop James Golka of the Archdiocese of Denver has requested that Father Chad Ripperger, a prominent Catholic exorcist, undertake a one-year “media fast.” The arrangement, which Ripperger reportedly agreed to, requires him to pause all public speaking, interviews, online homilies, and writings until next September.

The Archdiocese stated that this period will allow Ripperger to devote himself to the Society of the Most Sorrowful Mother, the semi-contemplative religious community he founded. While the Archdiocese expressed gratitude for his priestly service and exorcism ministry, it declined to provide specific details regarding the reasons behind the request.

Ripperger has recently gained significant social media attention, including appearances on the Tucker Carlson Show and the Shawn Ryan Show, where his views on topics such as evolution and extraterrestrial life garnered millions of views. A petition has been launched by supporters seeking to have his public ministry reinstated.
