Father Gavril Galev Honored with Three Awards for Service to Macedonian Community in Australia

Father Gavril Galev, igumen of the St. Clement of Ohrid monastery in Kensington, received three high recognitions at the Ilinden celebration in Melbourne organized by the Macedonian Australian Community Organization (MACO). The awards were presented by the Parliament of Victoria through envoy Natalie Hachins, by the Victorian Government via Minister Ingrid Stitt, and by the Macedonian‑Australian Federation of Pensioners through its president Stojan Janakievski.

The recognitions acknowledge more than two decades of Father Galev’s spiritual, cultural and social work with the Macedonian diaspora, including youth programs, preservation of Macedonian culture, tradition and identity, and active community engagement. Australian state institutions and Macedonian community bodies highlighted his long‑standing contribution to the cultural heritage of Macedonians in Australia.
