Father in Pará leaves job to support daughter's leukemia treatment

Paulo Robson Vasconcelos Pereira, a resident of Barcarena, Pará, has left his job to care for his daughter, Esther Sophia, who is undergoing treatment for leukemia. The family must travel frequently between Barcarena and Belém for medical appointments, exams, and procedures.

Esther’s situation is compounded by family history, as her mother passed away from uterine cancer when Esther was an infant. Because Robson left his employment to provide constant support, the family is facing significant financial difficulties regarding transportation, food, and daily living expenses.

Currently, Esther does not receive any government benefits to assist with medical costs. Following the viral spread of a photo showing the father and daughter, a solidarity campaign has been launched to collect donations via PIX to help cover their mounting expenses. The family has issued a warning to verify the recipient's name to avoid potential scams.
