Father Luciano Mazzocchi to discuss Zen and Gospel at Ripatransone festival

Father Luciano Mazzocchi will participate in the sixth edition of the “Indipendenti, Ribelli e Mistici” festival in Ripatransone. The event is scheduled for September 19 at the Studio d’Arte Mario Vespasiani.

Mazzocchi, a Saverian missionary who lived in Japan for approximately twenty years, will present “Il Silenzio sorgivo.” His talk explores the intersection of Zen Buddhist principles and Christian spirituality. Drawing from his experience with Zen and Shinto, Mazzocchi discusses the concept of cosmic interdependence and advocates for a respectful, non-exploitative relationship with nature.

As a co-founder of the “La Stella del Mattino” Zen community and the “Vangelo e Zen” Association, Mazzocchi’s work has previously received encouragement from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
