Father Turoldo writings on 1976 Friuli earthquake to be presented
The Centro Studi padre David Maria Turoldo, with the patronage of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, is organizing two events to present a collection of writings by Father Turoldo regarding the 1976 Friuli earthquake.
The anthology, titled ‘Dalle macerie la speranza’ and published by Scholé-Morcelliana, compiles articles and writings from the priest-poet. The collection provides a firsthand account of the tragedy that struck the region in May and September 1976, as well as the subsequent reconstruction process.
The book features an introductory essay by Marco Roncalli and Lorenzo Cardilli, with a presentation by Daniele Parussini, president of the Turoldo Study Center. The events will take place on August 26 at the Duomo in Lignano Sabbiadoro and on August 27 at the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Grace in Sabbionera di Latisana.
