Fatima Sana joins Perth Scorchers for WBBL season

The Perth Scorchers have signed Pakistan captain Fatima Sana for the 12th edition of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). The 24-year-old all-rounder becomes only the second Pakistani player to compete in the tournament, following Nida Dar.

Sana has signed a one-year deal and is scheduled to be available for the Scorchers’ first eight matches of the season. Her participation may be extended depending on whether she receives clearance to miss a Pakistan training camp prior to the West Indies tour in December.

Sana has demonstrated significant form in 2026, recording 31 wickets and 540 runs. Her recent achievements include earning a spot in the T20 World Cup team of the tournament and hitting the fastest fifty in women’s T20 internationals against Zimbabwe. In a statement, Sana described the opportunity to play at the WACA Ground as a “dream come true.”
