Fatma Sena Karaveli becomes first female welder at bus factory
Fatma Sena Karaveli, an 18-year-old from the Çubuk district of Ankara, has become the first female welder at a local bus factory. Karaveli learned the trade at her father's industrial workshop starting at age 12 and later pursued formal training at a vocational high school, where she won several awards.
In her current role, she performs welding tasks on approximately 18 buses per day. Despite facing social prejudices and skepticism regarding women in heavy industry, Karaveli expressed her desire to serve as an inspiration for other women, stating that there is nothing women cannot achieve.
