Fattoria Sardi celebrates 100 years of winemaking in Lucca
Fattoria Sardi is celebrating 100 years of wine production in the Colline Lucchesi region near Lucca. While the estate has been owned by the Sardi family for over two centuries, the current century of winemaking dates back to 1926.
The estate is currently managed by enologists Matteo Giustiniani and Mina Samouti. Under their leadership, the 45-hectare property has focused on organic and biodynamic agriculture, with a particular emphasis on producing rosé wines, distinguishing it from the red wine tradition of the Tuscan region.
The business produces approximately 160,000 bottles annually from 18 hectares of vineyards. In addition to viticulture, the estate engages in olive growing, agricultural catering, and hospitality services.
