Fauda creator Avi Issacharoff criticizes Mark Ruffalo over Gaza remarks
Avi Issacharoff, the co-creator of the Netflix series ‘Fauda’, has criticized actor Mark Ruffalo for describing Israel’s military actions in Gaza as genocide. Speaking at a London conference benefiting the Tel Aviv University Trust, Issacharoff called Ruffalo a “rare combination” of “stupid” and “ignorant.”
Issacharoff contested the genocide label by citing data regarding humanitarian aid and population statistics. He argued that Israel permits approximately 600 trucks of food and supplies to enter Gaza daily and noted that more Palestinians have been born in Gaza during the conflict than have been killed. He suggested these factors demonstrate a lack of intent to eliminate the Palestinian population.
While Israeli officials maintain that aid volumes exceed international benchmarks, United Nations agencies have reported ongoing difficulties, including shipment delays and restrictions on humanitarian operations.
