FAU/NCHA Community Health Center receives federal FQHC designation
The Florida Atlantic University/Northwest Community Health Alliance (FAU/NCHA) Community Health Center has earned a federal designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This transition from a Look-Alike status follows the center being selected for a 2026 New Access Point award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, via the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
FAU was awarded $650,000 through the FY 2026 New Access Points program. The funding is part of a larger $102 million federal investment distributed among 158 health centers nationwide to support 415 new service sites.
Cameron G. Duncan, CEO of FAU/NCHA and Dean of Nursing at FAU’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, stated that the award will allow the center to reach more patients and provide nursing students with increased opportunities to learn through community-based service.
