Faustino Oro remains undefeated at Madrid chess tournament
Argentine chess prodigy Faustino Oro remains undefeated at the Legends & Prodigies II tournament in Madrid. Following an initial victory against Diego Flores, the 12-year-old Grandmaster recorded two draws during the second day of competition.
Oro drew his match against Spanish Grandmaster Pepe Cuenca Jiménez after a significant shift in momentum. Despite Cuenca committing a blunder around move 28 that left Oro in a winning position, the advantage was not converted. Oro also drew his third-round encounter with David Antón Guijarro.
After three rounds of the ten-round tournament, Oro and Antón Guijarro share the lead with two points each. The tournament features several experienced players holding the FIDE title.
