Faustino Oro's Argentine tour and Granada Open Chess tournament attract players

Argentina's 12‑year‑old chess prodigy Faustino Oro, the world's second‑youngest Grand Master, will stage simultaneous exhibitions in Tigre (1 August), Mar del Plata (6 August) and Rosario (8 August). The events are organized by the Argentine Chess Federation with support from the national tourism board, and the young champion expressed pride in representing his country abroad.

In Spain, the Granada Open Chess tournament concluded with nearly a hundred participants competing in pair‑play formats. Winners included the mixed pair "Ohhferran" (Polish players Bartlomiej Niedbala and Emilia Dylag) and the women's team "Gambitas a la Plancha" (Sofía del Águila and Elena Ocaña). Grandmasters such as Frenchman Joseph Girel and Romain Edouard were among the leaders in the competition.

Both events highlight a surge of interest in chess across the two countries, drawing amateurs and masters alike to public venues and promoting the sport as a cultural attraction.
