Faustão details recovery from four transplants and retirement plans

Brazilian television presenter Fausto Silva, known as Faustão, shared details regarding his health recovery and retirement during an interview on the program ‘Conversa com Bial’. The 76-year-old host discussed undergoing four organ transplants and spending approximately three years hospitalized.

Faustão noted that the experience taught him patience and resilience, qualities he previously lacked. He described his current recovery routine, which includes Tai Chi Chuan, weight training, and physiotherapy to manage physical side effects such as back pain. He expressed deep gratitude for his medical team, specifically mentioning cardiologist and transplant specialist Fernando Bacal from Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein.

Reflecting on his 64-year career and his 33 years at TV Globo, the presenter stated he does not intend to return to a professional television routine. He emphasized that his priority is now spending time with his family, which he described as his true legacy. He also expressed pride in the professionals he mentored during his career.
