Faya Younan shares survival story after skin cancer diagnosis

Syrian singer Faya Younan has shared her experience surviving malignant melanoma to raise awareness about skin cancer. The artist discovered a small mole on her back and, after initial hesitation, sought medical consultation in Lebanon.

Following examinations by medical professionals, Younan was diagnosed with malignant melanoma. She underwent surgery to remove the mole and a surrounding area of skin to ensure no cancerous cells remained. Younan described the period of waiting for biopsy results as one of the most difficult stages of her experience, but confirmed that subsequent tests showed she is clear of the disease.
