Fayoum Governorate implements social service and development initiatives
Officials in the Fayoum Governorate are implementing several initiatives aimed at improving social services and community development. Major General Magdy El-Waseef, Secretary-General of the governorate, oversaw the conclusion of a specialized training course for citizen service employees. The program focused on sign language and guidance skills to better communicate with people who are deaf or hard of hearing, following presidential directives to integrate people with disabilities into society.
Additionally, Governor Mohamed Hani Ghoneim inspected the ‘Fayoum Al-Khair’ comprehensive development initiative in Manshat Sakran village. The initiative provides various services, including free medical convoys for pediatrics, dermatology, and gynecology, as well as veterinary and agricultural services. The program also features mobile technology centers, food commodity outlets at reduced prices, literacy classes, and support for small and medium enterprises.
In conjunction with these efforts, the ‘Their Health is Their Future’ initiative, conducted in cooperation with the Directorate of Education and supported by UNICEF, has targeted 450,000 students to raise awareness about water conservation. This program includes the distribution of dental hygiene kits and the installation of water-saving devices in schools.
