Kylian Mbappé and mother involved in French legal investigation

French authorities are investigating a legal matter involving Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappé and Mohamed Sanhadji, the former security official for the French national football team. Sanhadji has been formally charged with corruption, fraud, and money laundering.

Investigators are scrutinizing a donation of 60,300 euros made by Mbappé in June 2023, sourced from his 2022 World Cup bonuses. Authorities are also examining a 120,000 euro loan requested by Sanhadji, who allegedly claimed financial difficulties. The probe includes a July 2023 family trip to Cameroon involving both men.

Fayza Lamari, Mbappé’s mother, has been placed under the status of ‘témoin assisté’ (assisted witness) after being questioned by judges. She is suspected of requesting Sanhadji’s assistance in obtaining visas for four family members. Other high-profile figures, including Franck Ribéry and Noël Le Graët, have also been questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
