Fazenda Vira-Mundo celebrates 10 years in Petrópolis

The Instituto Fazenda Vira-Mundo celebrated its tenth anniversary in the Brejal district of Petrópolis with an event that drew over 800 attendees. The celebration centered around the 6th edition of the Feira dos Produtores do Brejal e Arredores Criativos, an initiative that originally helped establish the institute in 2016 by connecting local farmers, artisans, and cultural agents.

The anniversary program featured 30 free activities, including sports competitions such as the Vira-Mundo Football Cup, volleyball, and martial arts demonstrations. Educational and cultural workshops were also held, covering topics such as plant-based gastronomy, artisanal cheese production, and forest fire prevention.

A special tribute was paid to Augusto Katsumoto, a pioneer in organic vegetable and seedling cultivation in the region, who passed away this year. His family members, Angela, Rumi, and Midori Katsumoto, received the honor during the festivities.
