FBI Assists Investigation of July 25 Morgan Hill Shooting

On July 25, a shooting occurred at an unsanctioned gathering in an open field near Hale and Miramonte Avenue in Morgan Hill, California. More than 300 people were present; 18‑year‑old Desiderio Romero V was killed and six others were injured.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office has enlisted the Federal Bureau of Investigation to aid the investigation, offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the shooter(s). Sheriff Robert Jonsen and FBI San Francisco Special Agent in Charge Scott Schelble urged the community to submit tips via an online portal, emphasizing that someone at the event likely knows the perpetrator.
