FBI captures six fugitives and seizes $17 billion in global scam crackdown

FBI Director Kash Patel announced the capture of six fugitives from the agency’s Most Wanted Fraudsters list. The suspects, identified as Manjit Singh Bedi, Elaine Agene Esco, Khalid Ahmed Satary, Herbert Leon Kimble, Sahid Abdullahi Ereg, and Emylee Thai, had spent a combined total of more than 4,000 days on the run across four continents. The fraud cases linked to these specific individuals involve more than $2 billion.

In a broader international effort known as Operation Blackout, the FBI and its partners have seized nearly $17 billion and arrested hundreds of alleged scammers. The operation has also resulted in the rescue of thousands of trafficked workers used in fraudulent operations. Patel noted that the campaign successfully warned over 10,000 Americans, preventing an estimated $670 million in potential financial losses.
