FBI denies Kash Patel's reported secret trip to Russia

The FBI has officially denied reports that Director Kash Patel traveled to Russia for secret meetings. The controversy began after MS NOW reported, citing anonymous sources, that Patel had landed in Moscow for a two-day visit to meet with Russian security officials, including the Federal Security Service (FSB).

The FBI refuted these claims by posting video evidence showing Patel was actually in Lynchburg, Virginia, attending a law enforcement appreciation event at Liberty University. Patel himself dismissed the reporting as “clickbait,” asserting that the agency should focus on facts.

The rumors were fueled by previous reports from Politico in July suggesting a potential visit to Moscow and Saint Petersburg in mid-October. This speculation had already drawn criticism from Democratic lawmakers, including Jamie Raskin and Jim Himes, who had urged Patel to cancel any such trip due to national security risks and concerns regarding foreign espionage.
