FBI disrupts terrorist plot targeting White House UFC 250 event
Federal law‑enforcement officials announced that a multi‑state operation by the FBI and partner agencies arrested five suspects and stopped a coordinated terrorist scheme aimed at the UFC Freedom 250 mixed‑martial‑arts event held on the White House South Lawn. The plan called for three waves: a fleet of explosive‑laden drones to strike surrounding buildings, pre‑positioned snipers to fire on fleeing spectators, and a ground assault to storm the White House gates.
Investigators said the plot was discussed in an encrypted Signal chat involving at least 23 participants and was motivated by an ideological hatred of "capitalist elites" and political figures. One arrested suspect, 19‑year‑old Tycen Proper of Ohio, was taken into custody after his mother alerted police about his extremist communications. The event coincided with President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday and was attended by the President, Vice President JD Vance and UFC CEO Dana White.
