FBI foils drone‑bomb plot targeting White House UFC event

Federal agents announced that a coordinated terrorist scheme to attack the White House during a UFC fight celebrating President Donald Trump's 80th birthday was intercepted. The plan called for explosive‑laden drones to strike the north side of the White House and for snipers to fire on evacuees.

Five suspects were taken into custody, and investigators identified additional participants who had communicated via TikTok and encrypted messaging apps, purchased firearms, ammunition and tactical gear, and discussed potential high‑value targets. FBI Director Kash Patel described the incident as “a potential threat” and said the operation spanned several states.

The UFC Freedom 250 event was staged in the White House gardens with a temporary octagonal ring, drawing thousands of spectators, congressional leaders and administration officials. The thwarted attack adds to a series of recent threats against the president.
