The FBI is investigating a newly launched dark web marketplace named ‘Nexus’ that claimed to be selling over 153 million driver's licenses from individuals in the United States and Canada. The marketplace also reportedly offered more than 10 million ID cards, three million travel documents, and approximately 579,000 medical cards.

Preliminary reports suggest the stolen data may have been siphoned from IDScan.net, an identity verification company based in Louisiana. The marketplace's listings included the personal identification of high-profile figures, such as US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and an assistant director of the FBI. Following reports of the marketplace's activities, the Nexus website disappeared, displaying a message stating the service was no longer available.
