Eric Swalwell: FBI seizes electronics and raids Washington home FAST-MOVING

Federal agents have conducted a series of raids and seizures targeting former Democratic Representative Eric Swalwell as part of a criminal investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. On Saturday, FBI agents reportedly intercepted Swalwell at San Francisco International Airport, where they seized his electronic devices, including his cell phone. This was followed on Sunday by the execution of a search warrant at his residence in Washington, D.C.

The investigation involves multiple allegations of sexual misconduct and assault. At least four women have come forward with accusations, including a former staffer who alleges she was raped on two separate occasions in 2019 and 2024. Another accuser, Lonna Drewes, alleged she was drugged and raped in Los Angeles in 2018. Other claims include the sending of unsolicited explicit images.

Separate investigations into these allegations are being conducted by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Additionally, the White House Transparency Task Force recently declassified documents regarding a decade-old FBI investigation into Swalwell’s relationship with Christine Fang, a suspected Chinese intelligence operative. Swalwell, who resigned from Congress and withdrew from a California gubernatorial race in April, has denied all allegations of wrongdoing, though he has acknowledged making mistakes in judgment.
